Inside the bank
The Bank had two chairs, a desktop and a drawer for cash. The bank had no toilets or water so the workers used the shop’s toilet.
The bank did not have a safe as money was brought out each week and then taken back to Ballarat. There is a safe in the restored building which was donated to the Historical Society.
Mr Hanrahan remembers that sometimes the bank was very busy and traded a lot of money. Click below to hear him explain.
