The First Station.

The Wainwright's house where the first police station was.
The first police station in the district was in Bullarook in 1861. It then moved to Bungaree, on the north-west corner of Lester's Road. This is where the Wainwrights live and the lock-up is still in their backyard.
The Second Bungaree Police Station.

The second Police station next to the Chalmer's Store.
The police station was then built in a paddock on the south-west corner of Lester’s Road and Bungaree-Wallace Rd. This was next to the Chalmer's General Store and Post Office.
First and Last prisoners.

The Bungaree Jail.
The first person to go to jail was in 1867. It was Dennis Murphy for murder of his best friend Pattrick O’Meare. Pattrick was last seen in Wallace in 1866. Dennis was hanged at Ballarat Jail on the 15th of February, 1867.
The last prisoner that was put in Bungaree Jail was in 1945.
The last prisoner that was put in Bungaree Jail was in 1945.
