The Devereux's bought the blacksmith of Charlie Roberts. Mr Roberts bought the blacksmith off Mr Chisholm.
The Blacksmith Closes
Bill Devereux broke his ankle and couldn't blacksmith anymore. He retired and sold the shop and it became a mechanics. Mr Frank Hanrahan said, "I don’t remember much of the blacksmith working there, but I do remember it as a mechanics workshop run by Herb Packham with Des Frawley as his helper. Morris Torpy and myself used to call in some Saturday mornings to watch them working on the cars. From memory it was mechanics workshop through part of the 1950s and 1960s."
